Murray Electorate Community Calendar: Last chance to find our best amateur photographers
September 14, 2011
Surely it can’t be September already? Yes, spring has arrived and so has your final chance to submit photos for inclusion in the Murray Electorate Community Calendar.
With its diverse and unique character, Murray is renowned for its wonderful people and amazing scenery and is the perfect spot to take some memorable snaps. The most eye-catching entries will feature in Sharman Stone’s annual community calendar, which is distributed to all homes in the Murray electorate.
Dr Sharman Stone, Federal Member for Murray would like to remind everyone that while many extraordinary shots have been received by her office, final entries for the community photograph competition are will still be being accepted until Wednesday 14th September.
“Whilst I had an overwhelming response earlier in the year, we would still love more photos from the Boort, Dingee, and Nathalia, Yarrawonga and Strathmerton areas among others, including the Shire of Strathbogie which was included in the Murray electorate as a result of the AEC re-distribution of Victorian electorate boundaries.
“I also want photos that truly reflect the diverse mix of people and places we are lucky enough to live amongst. Those that can combine this personal touch may be the ones to have their entries chosen.
“You don’t have to be a professional photographer,” Sharman Stone said, “just a budding amateur with an eye for what makes a good shot.”
Entrants are asked to submit their photographs as a digital JPEG file only, with a short description. They can be emailed direct to s.stone.mp@aph.gov.au with ‘electorate photos’ in the subject line or a CD can be posted to my office at 426 Wyndham Street, Shepparton.
And remember, all images are to be received by 14th September 2011.
For more information, please call the office on either 1300 132 413 or (03) 5821 5371.
