Disaster Income Recovery Subsidy extended
May 27, 2011
The Disaster Income Recovery Subsidy for flood affected Victorians has been extended to 31 May 2011.
Federal Member for Murray, Dr Sharman Stone urges all those who have been affected by the floods to apply for this subsidy, if you have not done so already.
“This subsidy is available to people, employees, small business owners and farmers who have lost income as a result of the floods,” Sharman Stone said.
“The subsidy is payable for a period of up to 13 weeks and provides fortnightly payments equivalent to the maximum rate of Newstart allowance, and is dependent on individual circumstances.
“The subsidy is not available to those already receiving another income support payment or pension, but for those who are not receiving any sort of support, this subsidy can help take some of the pressure off paying some bills,” Sharman Stone said.
