A million reasons for local clubs to apply for Telstra's equipment grants
May 25, 2011
The Telstra Assistance Fund is offering more than $1 million to compensate eligible sports teams, community music or dance groups for equipment lost in the recent devastating floods.
Applications close at 5.00pm on Thursday 30 June 2011.
Federal Member for Murray, Dr Sharman Stone is calling on all sporting clubs in the electorate of Murray who lost valuable equipment in the floods, to apply to Telstra for assistance.
“Telstra is targeting teams and clubs in the Riverina Murray region who were affected by recent floods.
“I commend Telstra for recognising the struggling community groups who lost equipment, and who depend on volunteers and local fundraising to replace it,” Sharman Stone said.
“Our clubs and teams are the backbone of many of our communities. Replacing some lost or damaged equipment will assist in the recovery as well as support the wider community.
“Not for profit clubs can check www.ideasforgood.com.au/taf to apply. Clubs will need to give details about the flood damage to their equipment and select an equipment pack to suit their needs,” Sharman Stone said.
