We stopped the pipeline, now anything is possible

November 30, 2010

The only truly rural electorate to change hands from Labor to Liberal in Victoria on Saturday and with a massive swing too was Seymour. This swing was a resounding NO vote for the North-South Pipeline, that ultimate Bracks/Brumby folly which pilfered water from food producers and family farms, pushing it up and over the Great Dividing Range to a capital city that did not care to recycle or harvest... Paid Parental Leave must be better

June 23, 2010

At a press conference at Parliament House in Canberra the Prime Minister was asked a very serious question by a journalist. Latika Bourke, from Radio 2UE, asked Mr Rudd why his leadership was “in crisis”. Many of the Indigenous women and children knew nothing other than the fear of beatings fr... Click here for full story

Water money is not secured

March 31, 2010

Newspapers have to be held accountable. In the Weekly Times 31 March 2010 page 7 the Journalist Peter Hunt writes that the Commonwealth and State Governments have committed to $65 million to buyout 108 Campaspe District water entitlement holders.  He states “irrigators gain $2400 a megalitre from the Commonwealth”. Sadly that is simply not true, but we certainly wish it was so.   Nego... Click here for full story
